A lot of the guys when I was aboard complained
about the sleeping quarters for enlisted men.
1" thick mattresses and such. Ha. But not me!
I loved serving aboard ship. I put in for a
transfer from NAS North Island so I could become
ships company. So yeah, I loved roughing it.
You know, "Wooden Ships and Iron Men" or in
the Ranger's case, "Iron Ships and Iron Men".
I was just going for third class when I injured
discs in my neck and was discharged honorably
but medically on 5-23-75. And my recent photo.
What a difference time makes. Ha
