My name is Mike Henry and a past AMH-2 assigned to VF-21 and the Ranger. It's funny how a couple of old Swabs end up in Kansas. I'm a Special Ed Teacher in Goddard, KS. I live in nearby Wichita. Several years ago when I was working for 
Boeing here in Wichita I worked for a retired Master Chief that was running NAMTREDET at Miramar. We still cross paths from time-to-time.

I was in the Navy for only 2 years from 1977-1979 as an AMH-2 assigned to VF-21 Freelancers during that time. I had been in the AF for 7 years when I got out had a civiallian job then laid off 2 weeks later. A Navy Recruiter friend got me into the Navy as an AMH-2. Lost all time-in-grade but it was a good deal and 
I had a family to feed. So we ended up in San Diego. Loved SD but not the Navy. 
I stayed only 2 years and got back into the AF. BMTS-click to enlarge
