Terry Turner's Patches

Standard Navy Aircrew emblem. I've found that the aircrew are one
of the tightest knit group of guys that I've ever had the privilege to work with.
*******

Aviation Anti-Submarine Warfare Operator Third Class dress blue badge.
That was as far as I got, but I'm still proud that I got my crow!!
***********

This is was created for our arrival into
Perth after 101 days in the I.O.
*********

This was the last issue from Lockheed of
a patch for the S3-A Viking Aircraft
**********

NATTC Memphis patch. I was fortunate enough
to go through my AW "A" school here which is
actually in Millington, TN
***********

NATTC Pensacola patch. Pensacola was one of my favorite places. If you ever saw the movie Officer and a Gentleman, Pensacola is where us enlisted pukes go for our Aircrew school. We take the same swim quals, run the same obstacle course, and go through all of the crash simulators that the officers do, we just didn't have the Marines for instructors. The officer school was across the street from ours and we took GREAT pleasure in giving the "chrome domes" a hard time
                                                          **********

Custom made leather flight jacket name tag.
Custom because I had the Ranger put on it,
and AW3 in front of my name.
*********

Ranger Unit Identification Marker. Ships Company and proud of it!!
*******

This "No-Subs" patch says it all!! Our job and
mission was to locate, track, and if necessary
destroy any enemy sub that threatens the fleet
********

This is an after-market P-3 Orion "Sub-Killer"
Patch. These birds stay up for 13 hours and
are choice duty for "real" sub chasers
*********

This is an after-market patch for the SH-3 helo.
I spent a lot of time sitting plane guard in one
of these, and thank god for the SAR crewman whose
job it is to rescue down pilots!!
********

VS-41 Squadron Patch. AIRANTISUBRON-41 was
the final flight school for jet bound AW's
before they hit the fleet
*********

This is standard Ranger shield patch
that was being used in '82
********

S.E.R.E Trained is an VERY exclusive patch
that you can only get after successfully
completing the Survival, Resistance, and
Escape school in Warner Springs, Ca. They
say that the simulated prisoner of war camp
is only 1/8th as realistic as the real thing,
but after 2 days I SWORE I was in another country!!
************

HS-2 Squadron patch. These guys are the best!!
Ready at a moments notice to risk their lives to save
a downed pilot or crew. Sitting plane guard is the best
place to get flight time and take pics of flight ops.
******

This is the cruise patch for the 1982 WestPac cruise.
This patch measure 6 3/4 inches from point to point
and is by far the best looking cruise patch I've ever seen.
********

VS-21 Squadron Patch. Nothing like an S-3A
cat shot!! Was privileged enough to fly off
during the 101 day stint in the I.O. Lucky me!
